We’re proudly working with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to build a world without hunger. WFP is the leading humanitarian organisation fighting hunger worldwide, providing food each year to some 80 million people, including school meals to over 16 million children through its School Meals Programme.
In 2017, with the help of our cardholders and partners, Mastercard funded more than 8 million school meals for children in Mali.
Transport for London
Mastercard donated a school meal every time a commuter paid for their journey with their contactless Mastercard during our campaign in October and November across the capital. This was the first campaign of its kind on the London transport network.
Mastercard issuer Virgin Money ran a campaign for its customers, pledging to donate a meal every time a Virgin Money Contactless Mastercard was used.
A school meal was donated each time customers paid with a Mastercard at WHSmith during our campaign.
Mastercard employees have biked hundreds of miles, baked and held quizzes to fund much-needed school meals.
Qkr! with Masterpass
Users of our Qkr! app made donations when they ate out, so that children could have a nutritious meal.
Feeding their future: Priceless®
Through Mastercard’s support of WFP’s School Meals Programme, every 20 pence donation provides one nutritious school meal to help give a child the energy and strength to stay in school and focus on their education. Together, we can help children to reach their full potential.
